Drew Daywalt

Ever since his childhood in one of Ohio’s most haunted houses, Author Drew Daywalt has been writing escapist fantasy, humor and horror. With a degree in Creative Writing from Emerson College in Boston with a concentration in Children’s Literature, Drew set off to Hollywood where he spent years writing for Disney, DIC Entertainment and Universal on such beloved shows as Timon & Pumba, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and Woody Woodpecker, and where his animated series The Wacky World of Tex Avery garnered an Emmy nomination. His first trip into live action landed him screenwriting and film directing work with such Hollywood luminaries as Quentin Tarrantino, Tony Scott and Jerry Bruckheimer. With an eye toward horror, Drew was one of the founding members of FEWDIO, the world’s only Horror Troupe, dedicated to all things dark and fantastical. Most recently, Drew has just completed production on his latest feat of imagination, the dark fantasy web series CAMERA OBSCURA, which launches in early 2010. Drew takes inspiration from the children’s stories of antiquity – most notably The Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Anderson, as well as contemporary authors like Roald Dahl & Maurice Sendack, whose realities blended willy nilly with the fantastical, and always placed children, warts and all, at the center of the story.
